Talents unlock as you level, and the pool is wider than the points you will earn. The early game rewards focus: pick the tree that matches the spells on your bar. If you live in Levioso and Incendio, the upgrades that add a second lift or a fire burst pay off every fight.

Save the niche picks for later. The talents that change a spell you rarely cast are a luxury. The ones that make your opener hit harder, or your control last longer, are the workhorses. Respec is not free in the way a new robe is, so commit to a style for the first dozen levels and branch out once the core is solid.
