Intellectual property

The Harry Potter stories, characters, and related trademarks belong to their owners. Original wording on this site is a fan commentary and reference layer. You may link to pages. You may not copy the site and present it as an official publication, and you may not strip the fan disclaimer off and republish the notes as if they were licensed guides.

The tally and the games

House marks and quiz results are entertainment. They do not describe a real person, a school, or an official sorting. Do not abuse the tally endpoint. It is a counter for a parlor game.

Advertising

The site may show third-party advertisements, including Google AdSense. An ad is not an endorsement by this journal or by the owners of the stories. Advertisers do not assign the essays.

Messages

If you use the contact form, you are responsible for what you send. Do not include another person’s private information. We may keep the message so the desk can read it.

No warranty

Pages can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Story reference is kept short on purpose and can miss a nuance. Speculation is labeled because it is not a fact. You use the journal as it is.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the people who publish this fan site are not liable for decisions you make from a trivia slip, a theory, or a quiz result.
