Book 1 · Philosopher’s Stone · Chapter 11
Quidditch
Did you notice?
The sport arrives as rules and as identity. A seeker can erase everyone else’s hour, which is excellent drama and bad game design. Harry’s broom misbehaves during a match. The jinx is a person, and the person is not the one the crowd suspects. First lesson in a false trail.
Foreshadowing
Brooms as gifts become a later argument about money, pride, and who is allowed to compete. The sport stays; the stakes stop being a cup.
