Bowtruckle
A twig-shaped guardian of wand-wood trees. Peaceful until someone steals a branch, and then all fingers.
A bowtruckle looks like a stick that learned to pick locks and hold a grudge. It guards trees whose wood suits wands. Disturb the tree and the guardian goes for the eyes. That is the bestiary’s warning, and it is enough.
The creature films keep one as a nervous companion in a coat pocket. That is film characterization, not a new species fact. The settled point is the job: a small keeper of wand wood.
