Book 1 · Philosopher’s Stone · Chapter 5
Diagon Alley
Did you notice?
A brick wall opens onto an economy: a bank run by goblins, a wand that has opinions, a list of school supplies treated as a quest. A pale boy in a robe shop offers a friendship that is really a sorting. Vaults and an empty one do quiet class commentary beside the wonder.
Foreshadowing
The wand’s twin core is a late-book problem about who else’s wand shared a feather. Gringotts’ idea of ownership becomes an argument, not a field trip. Both are planted here as shopping.
