Grindylow
A small water creature with too many fingers, fond of ankles, at home in the school lake.
Grindylows are horned, green, and grabby. A Defense class can meet one in a tank. The lake under the castle holds the wild version, in the same water as the merpeople. They are a hazard with a habitat, not a moral.
Canon fact from the school books: they live in the lake and they are nasty at close range. A tournament task swims through their water. The task itself is a fourth-book plot, and this entry does not swim it again.
