Stupefy
A stunning spell. It drops a person without being one of the three criminal curses.
Stupefy is the combat charm the later books treat as standard. It stops someone. It is not listed with the unforgivable curses, which the stories set aside as control, torture, and killing. The distinction matters. A war story still needs a way to end a fight that is not murder, and stunning is that way.
Repeated stuns are not harmless. The novels show people slow to wake. This entry names the category and does not demonstrate it.
