Lucius Malfoy
Draco’s father. A rich governor of the school, a collector of influence, and a man who prefers other people to do the dangerous work.
Lucius has pale hair, a cane, and a seat where policy is gossip. He looks down on the Weasleys, flatters ministers, and treats house-elves as fixtures. The early books let you dislike him before they fully show the mark he took in the last war.
He is not the series’ main villain. He is the respectable version of the same politics: blood, money, and a talent for being elsewhere when the spell hits.
Later in the story
Disgrace, a task handed to his son, and a family that has to pick a side arrive later. The governor on the platform is the man to meet first.
