Student

Harry Potter

The student the seven novels follow: a boy left on a ordinary doorstep, then claimed by a school and by a war he did not start.

Harry is the point-of-view door into the castle. He arrives famous for surviving as a baby and unequipped for the fame. The books stay close to his guesses, including the wrong ones, which is why a first reading and a reread feel like different schools.

He is sorted into Gryffindor, plays seeker, and collects friends faster than mentors. The scar is a mark the world treats as a brand. What it means beyond a wound is something the series spends years reopening.

Later in the story

Later books tie the scar to a connection with the antagonist, and the last novel asks what surviving a killing curse actually cost. Those answers are plot. The profile above is enough if you are still early.

Family sketch

The Potters

A three-person sketch. The novels mention a wider family, including Harry’s aunt on his mother’s side, and this drawing leaves that street for the book.
