Forbidden Forest
The trees students are told to avoid. Centaurs, spiders, and detentions that ignore the sign.
The forest is forbidden the way a locked diary is forbidden: the rule is real, and the plot walks in anyway. Detention, creatures, and a gamekeeper’s hut at the edge. The stacks entry is the longer note. This pin is the geography — east of the castle on our diagram, which is a drawing choice, not a survey.

Snitches are never handled with bare skin before a match, because they remember the first flesh that catches them. The trail runs from a mouth-catch in book one to a will-reading in book seven, and ends on a walk into the forest.
