Gryffindor Tower
A common room behind a portrait, high enough that the house’s nerve has a staircase.
Gryffindor’s room is a tower reached by giving a password to a painted lady. The height matches the house’s reputation: visible, drafty, and a climb. Common rooms in these stories are clubhouses with beds attached. This one is red, noisy, and the default interior of the early books because the trio sleeps there.

- Settled in the storyHow did the Death Eaters get into Hogwarts in the sixth book?
Peeves smashes one cabinet as a favour in book two. A bully vanishes into it in book five and comes back with a story. By book six, Draco Malfoy has turned the pair into the hole in Hogwarts' defences.
- Settled in the storyWhere was Ravenclaw's diadem before anyone went looking for it?
Harry walked straight past the lost diadem while hiding a textbook, close enough to use it as a landmark. The trail covers the tiara on the bust, the Grey Lady's confession, and the fire that ended a hiding place a thousand years deep.
